Can anyone please let me know the exact difference between the container and replicant in datacapture.cfg? Also their exact requirement.

Replicants are not used anymore, you can do all the things with a container.

Replicants existed in the 4.x and 5.x versions of the FormsPublisher DCT DTD - they were replaced by containers in the 6.x version of the FormsPublisher DCT DTD when the container (which also existed in previous versions) was allowed to contain 'min' and 'max' attribute values.

As such - a container with no min/max attributes is a container; a container with min/max attributes is a [replicant-] container
