Can we change templating.cfg dynamically?

Hi All,

We have a requirement like "Onclick of Save we need to disable the Save, after sucess of saving dcr and deployment again we have to enable the Save" for this we have to change the tempalting.cfg dynamically.
Is it possible to change the templating.cfg?

Any suggestions.

IMO you should not be doing that even if you can.

Onclick of save we are giving 2 alert messages one for dcr saving into Teamsite and deploying a dcr.
Here users are not waiting for these messages they are keepon hitting the save button,because of that so many tasks are in pending and deployment getting fail.
so that we are searching for any other option to solve this issue.

Please advice me in this regard.

OnSave event increase a counter by 1 and on every click on save button if the counter value is 1 return false. To reset the counter capture the event onSaveDone and make the counter value back to 0.

For every application we develop, we provide a user manual as 'How to' but again we can give them manuals but not ask them to read before asking. Smiley Very Happy

Today Most of the end users/clients are Contractors who come and work for few months/ 1 year.

So when the person understands the system , its time for him to leave.

The Best would be to do the code changes in your formAPI (helps in Long run)

This is a logical solution.
If you want to deploy the DCR, onsave event, then after successful save lock the DCR by admin user and start the deployment. Once the deployment is complete, unlock the file as part of the workflow. This may prevent the user to save again. Also you can differentiate whether the file is locked by User for editing or by Deployment job.

I haven't tried this, but sure that users cannot save the DCR when its locked.
