Hi All,
There is a thread with similar topic but my problem is different.

I am using external task to send Template based email with Teamsite 6.7.1 SP1 - WFM 1.0.0.1 @ UNIX.

Its executing fine for user task. For group task it do sends the mail (I have checked debug log file) but send email on incorrect mail id --> root@domainname.com. Probably its not picking teamsite id from list of users defined on the Users attribute of WFM Group task.

I have attached mail header template which I am using. Please suggest what shall I add/edit in the template. It looks OK to me.

First of all i would like inform you that if you gone through "Group Task" threads it is mentioned that there is bug within WFM.

But you can send mail to a group using following ways:
1. make a group email Id like "group@domain.com" and put this in recipients.

2. write a DataSource java class for picking a group and return the email ids of the members of that group. Then register it in DataSrouceConfig.xml

Hope this will solve your problem.

The code in header template automatically detects the list of users in a group task but in my header template it seems its not picking the user.
For that purpose please have a look on the attached tpl file and comment on it.

Have you enabled debugging within iw_solution_email.ipl and looked at the output that gets stored in IWHOME/tmp/ ? If not - I suggest doing so. If you can't figure out what's happening from that - you'll need to post that information for any of us to have a go at it.

Have you verified the mappings in the solutions/email_map.cfg file to make sure that it isn't actually working as intended?

Yes i have done that.

The users which I am specifying in group task are getting mails when I mark them owner of a user task and send mail to that user task.

Then you're back to debugging your header.tpl file - which you should be able to do utilizing the task_output file created by iw_solution_email.ipl in IWHOME/tmp when you have debugging enabled.

There are differences between iw_solution_email.ipl (which you can call yourself from an externaltask) and the Java program used by WFM within Email Tasks.

I'm not sure of all the details of the differences - just that there are differences because they are two different programs written in two different languages - although I imagine the Java program was written to try to mimic the behavior of the perl script as much as possible.

Someone posted a response to one of my queries about the Email Task with some information about debugging them - I don't recall the thread off-hand, and haven't had the opportunity / need to bother with it since that one attempt I made (in which I ended up replacing Email Tasks with External Tasks and running iw_solution_email.ipl) - but if you search the forums you should be able to find it.

Hi,
I had debugged my mail header template yesterday itself and came to conclusion that flow was not going to the else body of the "no owner" check.

I tried a lot but it didnt worked so ultimately I am a passing a separate mail header template file in the variable list of group email task.

In that header template I am using only the iteration code which is for group task.

Things have started working fine for me now.
