JAAS in WSMP5
fatboytim
Hi there,
I'm investigating implementing a single-signon approach to our use of WSMP 5. We currently have this implemented in WSMP 4 on our production servers using the Worksite MP JAAS module.
I know there have been some changes in 5 to the trusted logon settings, for example you can easily configure LDAP Authentication, and you can now implement SSO out of the box if you're running with Windows/IIS. What would be the best approach for us (using Tomcat)? Is there a new JAAS module for WSMP 5, or is there a better way? We'd ideally want to be able to combine the LDAP authentication feature with single signon.
Thanks in advance for any help (bear in mind I'm not an expert in this field - only learnt about JAAS today!)

Your existing JAAS implementation would still work against 5.0, as long as there were not changes to your LDAP system, but it does make sense to leverage the new SSO options.
Have you read through the WSMP 5.0 SP1 documentation coverage of the options? You'll want to think about how all end user clients should authenticate if you have web + desktop integration clients in use. The docs can be downloaded from the support site.
