TeamSite and LiveSite

Can someone please tell me what is the difference between TeamSite and LiveSite. They both seem to be used for content publishing and web content management

By dynamic content do you mean something like JSP in reference to HTML being static content. Are you referring to something else.

Teamsite is for Content Management - Capture, Store and Preserve and Deliver... however LiveSite is for dynamic delivery of content.

LiveSite is component based content delivery system.
Ccomponents can be reused in multiple pages / place holders.
LiveSite components (and templates) can be compared to portlets.
LiveSite components can be used to fetch content information from external sources (using/executing external java programs).
LiveSite enables drag and drop facility and allows the business user to define and arrange content to his needs/liking.

livesite components leverage xml and xsl to render. these components can be backed by java object to pull content from external sources, DB, web services, etc...

Teamsite has a decoupled delivery mechanism. That means that with it, you can create and manage HTML pages, JSP pages, asp pages or even PHP if you fancy. You deploy them to your prefered web server (Apache, IIS, ...) or J2EE platform (Tomcat,...) which is responsible for delivering your page.

Livesite is a delivery engine for pages that have been created by SitePublisher. SitePublisher is an add-on to teamsite that benefits from a WYSIWYG, drag/drop interface to create pages, that will be deployed to a Livesite delivery environment.

TeamSite --> scripting done mostly in Perl (may also use Java for customization)
LiveSite --> customization done in Java
