Ordering nodes in taxonomy

Customer has a product taxonomy and they want to control the sitemap using the taxonomy. They want users to have the ability to order the nodes of taxonomy in Metatagger studio and then deploy the taxonomy to database so that portal can build the site navigation.

Questions:
- Is it possible to manually order nodes of taxonomy in metatagger instead of the default alphabetical ordering that studio does?
- Is it possible to store the order number as an attribute on node, so that the value can be deployed to the database?
- What is the best practice to deploy taxonomy to database. Should it be deployed directly from MT->DB or should it be deployed thru TeamSite MT->TS->DB?

Would appreciate any pointers/experiences.

With our experince with MT server/studio
> Their is no OOTB way to custom order taxonomy. With the new version of TS 6.7.1 SP1, the TAGUI does not honor the alpha ordering in the studio

Can you give a sample of how you have done this? Are you editing the UIDs themselves, like as an sequence under each node? e.g.

etc.

If so, have you automated this somehow, to generate sequences without duplication?

In the following folder on MT server
Interwoven\MetaTagger\conf

Edit metatagger_studio.cfg

Added the following nodes in
< browse_only > section since we use browse only taxonomies

< jplabel label="jplabel" widget="textfield" required="false" >string< / jplabel >
< jprank label="jpRank" widget="textfield" required="false" > string< / jprank >

Restarted the services..

now when you open your taxonomy in MT Studio, that particular field should be available to handle the required field.
