Document Desctiption Unique

Is there any way using nrs scripts that I can test and warn a user if they are saving a NEW document to a custom1/custom2/class/subclass combination that already includes another document with that name?.
I am trying to avoid users saving mulptiple copies of the File without using versioning correctly.
Any other suggesitions
