OD remote upgradation error

Hello friends,

I installed OD 5.6 receiver in one of the machines. My base server is having OD 6.2. Now I'm doing a remote upgrade of the receiver server to 6.2. But I'm getting the well known error "***ERROR - Job ID=m3Deployment=test upgrade
Base: Exceeded all 3 retries to get a connection with the target OpenDeploy host.
Failed creating socket"

I have tried "telnet targethostname port no" and it is successful.

So can this be a possible license issue then? My understanding is that since the grace period for using OD without license is 1 month, it should ideally work.

Please share your thoughts.

this error means you OD base server is not able to make connection with OD receiver. just ping the receiver machine in base server. try to use IP address of receiver machine in OD base odnodes.xml and deployment config file.
in receiver odrcvr.xml use OD base IP in allowed host.
one more thing to check if windows firewall is on or off on receiver machine. it should be off,if it is ON allow the deployment port in windows firewall.
