deleting file from staging

I want to delete files from staging....
this is what i did...
i created a external task and called .ipl file to delete files from one of the folder in workarea....and also within ipl file i am using iwsubmit to submit folder to staging....

ipl is deleting files from folder but look like iwsubmit has no effect...i can still see files with delete red icon flags under my workarea folder...deleted files are not getting submitted to staging using iwsubmit....

what i am doing wrong...can anybody please suggest...

this is what i using to submit....so i have overwrite flag....

iwsubmit -w -u -c 'updated support info' -i 'keyword' main/WORKAREA/
andre/htdocs 'added imagemap'

This 'andre/htdocs' **** is simply a verbatim copy/paste from the manual.
Can you post your exact Command syntax? If you execute it in CLT mode, do you get an error? What is it?

This is my exact code...i get nothing return in log...

Take a look at the log file you produced and see if you spot anything wrong. If you don't cut and past that command into a DOS shell and see what happens (or doesn't happen)

Could it be that any of the deleted files are locked?

Either as a 'normal' lock or as a 'stale' lock?

You can check with iwlistlocks AND with the stale-lock utility from support.

BTW, could you add your teamsite version/os/patchlevel to your post next time?

Thanks everyone for input...i made following changes to make it work....

1. i can't use -w and -x together.....its not working if i do that...
2. I need to add submit comment at the end....

I am using TS 6.5 on unix box...
