Probably TeamSite 1.0 (and perhaps before I don't have any of my 3.x manuals anymore, but the term "vpath" was definitely included in the 4.2 documentation and it's such an intrinsic part of the product it's reasonable to assume it was there at the beginning) - the vpath is a virtual path that is used to reference a specific file through the Interwoven file system.

The form of the vpath changed somewhat between versions 5 and 6 where the latter started preceding the store name with

//servername

(it is possible that format always existed, but it wasn't that prevalent until TS 6)

Can you please take an example path and mention its VPATH for TS 5 and TS6.

What do you mean? I already indicated the change that occurred in version 6 in my previous post.

If you want some other question answered - please make your question detailed and explicit - provide an example of what you're trying to understand, etc. My guess is that if you start going through that exercise to compose your post you'll probably end up answering your own question and be able to abort the post.

If you're just trying to get some answer handed to you so you can pass some test or interview question - try getting a job on your actual merits instead of someone else's

Basicall we are starting a migration project from TS 552 to TS 671.

when we were trying to collect information like in which area of the application ,the TS 552 code may fail to work in TS 671. somewhere we came to know that the VPATH or CCI URLs will vary in the TS 671.
Now we are trying to find out that exact variation.

Still we appriciate your positive answer ...
i think clearing an interview is not a bid deal....(sorry for this comment).

Well - you're going to bringing up a new server to run 671 - right?
You know there are a bunch of changes - right?
Figure on at least one month for the upgrade - probably better to plan for between three and six months to provide buffer space, and then try to get it done within two months if nothing goes completely wrong.

If you search the forums you'll see a number of posts about upgrading from 5.x to 6.x - read all of them, use them as the basis for your plan - but don't assume that they'll cover everything you need to know. Some things can only be learned by experience because you're dealing with customizations and not everyone writes customizations the same ways.

Plan for the worst - hope for the best.
