Sometimes when I add a user on the teamsite6.7.1 on Windows plstform,sometimes domain name\userName (DOM-AIN1\abc) is coming up in the user list. While most of the times just userName (xyz) comes up in the user list. While I just add them on the OS and TeamSite in the same way. When domainName\userName comes up in the user list, it shows up in black letters which can not be clicked upon to check user details. While only userName comes up in the user list, it shows up in blue letters which acts as a link and upon clicking it shows user details in a pop up window.

Can anyone pls explain, why users are added in different ways ?

Probably the user which does not appear as a link is deleted from OS but still assigned a role on one of the branches or has not been removed from TS

or maybe deleted from TS and still assigned a role on one of the branches..or still a part of one of the groups..

Please try various permutations and combinations. Also, please share what was the issue once you have it sorted out

I just faced a similar issue. This is happening becuase you are probably adding users from command line and you have typing error in the user name. So actually the user does not exist on the Operating System or Domain

Its none of the things. I just created a user on the OS, added him on the TeamSite as a user and added him in a branch. User name is very simple (tapu) so there is no question of spelling mistake and secondly, I look for the username by browsing so there is no question of typing mistake. Now, I will just check for this command line tool entry. One of the collegue was telling me that its not the case of command line tool even.
But still I will try to do command line as well through the teamsite GUI. I guess I added many users through command line and they come up without domain name. Anyways, this time I will watch for the development while I add from command line

I would recommend adding through GUI.. and things should go fine.

I have figured aonther thing. If you create a group in TS w/o creating it on OS and add that group using GUI , that is added with a link(in blue letters). What I am not sure is how will it work w/o creating it on OS.
Now you delete this group and create it on OS first and then add to TS, it comes up w/o link i.e. in black letters and with domain name.
When I add group in the TS w/o creating it on OS, it just adds. It does not have a tab to find group from OS like users tab has when he is added to TS.
Now, when I try to add a group which is already existing on OS on TS, TS does not add the group but just gives a message that particular group already exists.
I dont know how to locate a group on TS and in the manage users tab, I can not locate that group.
why is it like this ?

You cannot have a TS group with same name as OS group.

To find if a group is already existing either in OS or TS, you can use iwgroup clt.

To find if group is already present in OS, try 'iwhome/bin/iwgroup list-groups -o'.

To find if group is already present in TS, try 'iwhome/bin/iwgroup list-groups -a'.
