If you are going to delete editions, you cannot delete middle editions of files. You have to delete the edition containing the oldest version of the file, and then the next edition which now contains the oldest version of the file, and so on.
versions 1,2 in EDITION ed_01, ... 3,4,5 in ed_02... (unchanged in ed_03, ed_04)... 6 in ed_05... (unchanged in ed_06)... 7,8 in ed_07
ed_02, ed_03, ed_04
I'm too lazy to look this up for validation, but from the top of my head, I disagree with (only) the above part of your reply. The way I remember it... based on a exampleif File A has versions 1,2 in EDITION ed_01, ... 3,4,5 in ed_02... (unchanged in ed_03, ed_04)... 6 in ed_05... (unchanged in ed_06)... 7,8 in ed_07 and you want to delete version 4, you would have to delete ed_02, ed_03, ed_04. (because you have to delete the edition where this version was submitted, plus all other editions (and workareas), where it lives, to delete a file version). As a consequence, also version 3 and 5 of File A would be deleted, as well as versions of other files that only existed in these editions.
Let me reframe my question:Content File is in workarea only, to view versions check file then File-> Versions. I have about 1000+ versions which consumes a lot of disk space. Is there any way to delete these versions ? Do mulitple versions occupy same space ? or they are just pointers ?
