Customizing Advanced Search UI

Standard TeamSIte UI Provides fields like "Created by", "Modified by".I need to add another field "Submitted by" to the UI alongside.Also need to provide functionality for the same.So is it posssible to do the same in TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1.

i have read thru the UI Customization guide Release-1.7.0 uicg.670.cg.pdf .What looks like is that we can customise existing fields on advanced search screen but can't include another field on the UI.
