Via the SDK, you can use the IMANEXT2Lib.IManMoveFolderCmd to move document folders or folder shortcuts from one workspace to another. This does not suppport moving tabs though. Also, the command will bring up confirmation dialogs - it's the same as when you invoke the Move command on the folder's right-click menu from within a WoorkSite Client app, i.e., DeskSite, FileSite, etc. For reference on using the IManMoveFolderCmd Object, see iManage Extension Library for WorkSite Developer's Guide: Command Object Reference: IManExt2.dll: IManExt2.IManMoveFolderCmd.

Alternatively, you may use the imanage.dll API's to silently move a document folder from a workspace to another. To re-file the moved folder, you would need to invoke the IMANEXT2Lib.IManRefileCmd silently (which is through specific contextitems) after the move. See IManExt2.IManRefileCmd under the same manual mentioned above.

For tabs, you could use the imanage.dll API's to retrieve the source tab, then recreate the same contents under the target workspace, then go back to remove the source tab. This will be quite involved.
