Archive Manager - getting started?

Looking for anyone who's using this!

Just about to get started with 8.2, but a couple of things puzzling me, perhaps its the terminology, and the documentation doesn't help.

The documentation talks about a destination library and DMS, but having Archive Manager installed and running on a dedicated server. Does this dedicated box need to have a DMS (not the 'production' DMS) installed on it as well as Archive Manager?

Also, I can find no information about the destination Archive library, other than that the user, group, type, class and a bunch of the custom tables have to be synchronised.

Do I require a 'normal' Worksite database schema for this library, with only the aforementioned tables populated and sync'd at the outset? If not, how do I create this destination database?

Hi Jason,

Regarding Archive Manager running box, when you ask if is necessary to have DMS in the server, if you mean if you need Worksite Server installed in the box, the answer is no. Archive Manager works as a client application so you don't need anything else for make it works.

And regarding the Archive library, it has to be another Worksite Database, so you have to create the same as a DMS library, and as you correctly told, users, classes, customs, etc must to be synchronised for prevention of issues on your jobs.
