Search is not working

Hi,

I need to search an element of DCR. I have added vPath in braches.cfg also added fieldSpecification in fieldMapping.xml as,

searchName
string
zone:displayName

and template as

.

"SearchName" gets populated successfully in the dropdownlist of SearchPage. But it doesnt able to search "displayName" element.

Anybody of you know where is the error and how to solve it?

After making changes to branches.cfg - did you re-index the collections?

What does re-index the collection means?

Restarting the services or something else. Please reply.

Restart the index serviece and using clt add branch for index.
