The order of items in Advanced Search drop down menu??

any one knows how to organize the order in which the items in the drop down menu in Advanced Search are displayed ????? i added a number of custom EA to the drop down menu . the order in which they are displayed is really weird. They are not even displayed based on the order i added them to the FieldMapping.xml or Character order.

i want to make indexed to be the default again ??

i would really appreciate ur help ...
