Hi All,

What's the best way to develop a custom form to replace the importcmd comand or new profile?

I plan to use the comand extension but is that going to work for office integration like Word/Excel as well?.

Have anyone done this sort of development ? What's the impact ?

I'm not clear on what it is that you're exactly trying to accomplish. It sounds like you're trying to customize WorkSite File|Save, particularily in integrated Word and Excel. Which version of WorkSite is this? Could you explain in a use case scenario what you would like to achieve?

We want redevelop the dialog box so we can modify and integrate with other application.

For example,
with the standard new profile you can't add a VB combo box to extract information from other application on the existing form.

What you would need to do is to hijack the import command. This means you would need to develop an ICommand custom command where you can plug in your custom code, then execute an instance of the ImportCmd to carry on the native save process. You would also need to massage the office document and open it using the OpenCmd once it's imported. You would essentially take over the save process which is quite involved.

If you own the SDK, I suggest you submit a request to WorkSite-Devsupport@interwoven.com for assistance on this.

For further clarification on creating an ICommand custom command, refer to your SDK manual, Creating Custom Commands in WorkSite.pdf, which is stored in the iHelp folder under your WorkSite iToolkit 8.x installed path. Also, there are ICommand command project examples in the iCommands folder under the same installed path.
