Should not allow past dates in the date filed

Hi,

I have requierement to specify the expiration date of the page in meta tag file(datacapture.cfg) where i should not accept the date in the past.

I found that allow past date = 0 will prevent accepting the date in the past.

But how to implement i dont have any idea.

Here is the code in the datacapture.cfg:

Where did you read about this?

If you want to restrict the user not to enter past dates, then you have to put some validation in your ipl script that you are calling through cgi-callout.

I did that in ipl file. But it is allowing user to enter the date in the past as it is not read only field.And allowing the user to save without any warning.

Which version of TS are you using. If you are using 6.7.1 you can easily use FormAPI to validate your field values.

I am using 6.5 SP2.

In that case FormAPI is of no use to you.

How are you tagging your files? Is it part of any of your workflow? If yes, then you can include one step in you workflow after tagging to validate your fields. If all are valid, continue with workflow. If anyone is invalid, go back to tagging task.

Use an external task. Call a PERL Script which can read the metadata from file and validate accordingly.

events can only be added through FormAPI which is not supported in TS 6.5.

As kshitiz has already mentioned - in the version of TeamSite you are using, there is no provision for utilizing javascript within the metadata capture form. The functionality was added in 6.7.1.

However - since you are using a CGI callout to select the date - you should be able to
