External Task not executing when called from Workflow.

I am calling an external task from a Workflow . This is basically an Perl script that i am running on the system. This is a new Teamsite 6.7.1 server that we are running on Windows2K3 . Is there any configuration that needs to be done for external scripts .
I checked the support site and made the following change in the authentication section iw.cfg file. It still did not work

[authentication]
disable_ext_task_impersonation=true

This is the output from the iwtrace.log file :
Execution of command C:\IWO\local\bin\test.ipl failed (Error: 2000004) for user: AO-IN002004\Administrator
This is the output from the iwobjerrors.log
Could not run C:\IWO\local\bin\test.ipl for task 7222; aborting (requires admin attention)
Somebody please help

Is this wft\ wfm?
Are you able to run the script directly from the command prompt?

Post what command you are using in the external task..

Is the first error from before or after you made the change to the iw.cfg file?
Are you sure the script itself is syntactically correct and contains the correct path to iwperl in the #! line?
Is this 671, 671SP1, or 671SP1 + Patch 1?

I am using a WFM for the workflow
This is my teamsite version
Version: Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1
Build Number: 68040
I am getting this error both before and after adding the entry in iw.cfg.
Attached is my perl script. I am able to execute the perl script when i run it from the console .

I'm not sure about your entire problem - but you code, as posted, is definitely flawed:

my $debug = FALSE;
...

FALSE is not an inherently defined constant in Perl (I have a module which makes it so - but OOTB - nope) - so for instance - with the following:

my $foo = FALSE; 
my $bar = TRUE;  
print qq("$foo") if ($foo); 
print qq("$bar") if ($bar);

You might think that it would print

(the value of $bar) - but in fact, it will print

FALSETRUE

(the values of both $foo and $bar - because by default they are treated as strings, and as strings they are both "true".

As for the primary issue - you might try adding some lines to iwutild.cfg and then run iwutildreset -- though I'm pretty sure I remember that those were superfluous when you had the iw.cfg setting which you've already added.

Did you do an iwreset -a after making the change to the iw.cfg file?

Yes I had called iwreset-a after doing the change in the iw.cfg file .
I even tried calling the unlock.ipl file which comes with the Teamsite installation but it gave me the same error . I am missing something somewhere a configuration setting, some config file change in Win2k3

We occasionally get similar errors while executing external task and perl script from the workflow.

Did you manage to solve the problem?
