Cancel Running Jobs

Is there any way to cancel publishing Jobs without using the Job Console?

We are importing many objects from V7.6 into our new V8 environment, with auto-publishing on. This has caused the database to crash due to insufficient virtual memory.

This in turn has caused the V8 Console to crash. When we re-boot the database and bring the Console back up, the Jobs still running cause it to crash again.

Therefore, we can't get into the Job Console to cancel the publishing? Can it be done via the database or through the Runtime Console? Any ideas?

I found the following support ticket (https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll?func=ll&objId=17547187&objAction=ArticleView) which suggested you can delete the Jobs via the database.

However, I have run the following queries in the system database and no data is returned:

select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnJob

select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnJobItemOrder
select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnJobItemStage

select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnJobEngineFailure
select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnJobEngineFailure
select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnJobItemReject
select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnSubJob
select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnSubJobHistory
select * from vgnsystemuser.vgnSubJobProgress

This leads me to believe it is not the Jobs bring down the system but the Search index. We have Openj Text Search installed, but no custom code or add-ons.
