Integrating data from external systems into Content Repository

Dear IWOV Experts,

I have a question, does anybody know of integration of external data i.e a table from other application DB that needs to be integrated or sent to IWOV Team Site.

My requirement is to be able to call a service (either Web service or any API) that an application can call and send over the data (Table Info) and load into the content repository as an XML.

If no out of box service/api is available, any otherways to laod data into the repository?

This would be completely customised work.. There no OOB tools available for the purpose.. and no other external tools I know of will be able to convert your custom tables to custom DCRs OOB.

There are definitely tools available to convert your DB Data to XML..

"how do i post an XML or a flat file into the Team Site repository"

my XML is in the CRM application and I want to post that XML into the Team Site Content Repository.

Any options available or techniques?

TS represents itself as a filesystem so you can copy to \\server\default\main\branch\workarea\content\some\dir\foo.xml and then do with it what you will

How you want to use that XML or flat file? If it is going to be just a content then you can just import that file to any directory structure...

How many files are there? Do you want a manual process or automated one?

I can see 2 ways (which are similar)

1. you harvest your XML files somehow from within a TeamSite box, by writing an application or a script. And put them into the content store.
2. You export your data into XML externally (say, your CRM has 'export to XML feature or something) and place them into the samba or Y: drive (that is TeamSite's exposed content store).

I have done both ways, depending on the requirements.
