Need to create Collab groups based on the LDAP "Address"

My company recently merged with another company based out of India. We have over a thousand users. We need to create groups to separate the India users from the US users. I was wondering if there is a way to do this automatically during the LDAP sync process using the "address" field.

With Collaboration versions >7.2 you may create groups inyour LDAP server that are synchronized and populated with users. Pleaserefer to the Collaboration Administration Guide for more information (specificallythe “LDAP User and Group Synchronization” section).

Unfortunately we are still on 7.0. I have a ticket open to get some help with the upgrades. Even once we are on 7.2, are you saying we would need to create groups in the LDAP and then we could replicate them in collab? I am trying to get away from having to manually update these groups. That's why I was wondering if there is anyway to create/assign to a group based on the "address" field.

Yes, it is available OOTB inCollab 7.2 and later releases. In your current state, similarfunctionality may be created via customization so that the necessary groups arepopulated post-LDAP sync.
