"CT_AttributeSequenceForCreateEditable" for a CTD

Hi,

I created a CTD with a couple of attributes with it. One of the attributes is called "Expiration Date". When I edited the properties of this CTD, in both "CT_AttributeSequenceForCreateEditable" and "CT_AttributeSequenceForEdit" fields, I seleted "Expiration Date".

When I tryto add a new instance of this CTD, however, it seems that "Expriation Date" attribute can only be edited on the Edit form; on the New form, even though I give the value for this "Expiration Date" attribute, it doesn't seem to take it.

Does anybody have any idea?

Hi Curtis,

There is difference between Task CTD and the CTD I created.

For Task CTD, in the "CT_FormAction", it is "RunScript". The "CT_ScriptName" is "caltask/newTask.py". The "CT_CreationTemplate" is "TaskNew.shtml", and hte "CT_EditTemplate" is "TaskEdit.shtml".

For the CTD I created, in the "CT_FormAction", it is "CreateNewObject". The "CT_CreationTemplate" is "CustomObjectNew.shtml".

Does it mean I need to create custom scripts and templates for my CTD in order to make it work corretly?

You don’t need custom scripts or templates to get it towork. I’ve modified the OOTB Task CTD so “CT_FormAction”is “CreateNewObject” and “CT_CreationTemplate” is “CustomObjectNew.shtml”and I can create a new task with the “due by” datepreserved.

I tried to add a new Task in a Task List, actually the Due Date value is not preseved either. The value of Due Date can be preseved when I use "Edit Properties". We didn't do any customization on the Task CTDs, which are supposed to be the out-of-the-box version.
