I there any facility in TeamSite OOTB for hyperlink validation? I know it is possible to create a script calling a third-party link validation tool.

Any information would be great...

In 5.5.2, there is an OOTB link checker available through the SCE tab (SmartContextEditing).
You need to view the HTML file by clicking on the link in the TeamSite browser - and then you may need to modify the "Preferences" for the SCE bar.
