Is it possible to modify the Query that is being sent to Autonomy dynamically?

Hi,

Is it possible to modify the query parameters that are sent to Autonomy dynamically?

I am using VAP 8.1 and Autonomy Search Engine. I want to modify one of the query parameter 'fieldtext'  that is being sent to Autonomy?

Also I am using out of box 'Federated Search' portlet
