mediabin error
biswas_126
Our mediabin server starts throwing error once it is running for some duration (10 days app.). And the tasks fail randomly and this becomes worse to a state that more than 50% tasks start failing.
Anybody experienced similar issues. If yes then how did you solve this?
we have mediabin 4.5.3 installation in our production environment 16gb of ram with 4 processorers

Are you noticing memory issues with the server or an inordinate number of handles being used? We try to stress test the releases against resource leaks but since we cannot test all possible files sometimes issues like this do creep up.
Have you considered moving to a newer version of MediaBin as that would be more stable?
What types of jobs (retrieval and insertion) do you typically run?
Cheers,

We have noticed similar issue -- for the server can run maybe a maximum of 5-8 days w/o restart (MediaBin 4.6.1); we have a very small number of actual users (5-6) but we run a lot of automation (maybe 6-12 jobs simultaneously).
The users start to complain about not being able to download assets, because they get an error message 'Exception in primitive decoder {0x00000}' <- that's not an exact quote. They have come to the conclusion that "MediaBin can't handle TIFF images" etc... This issue makes the product appear to be unreliable and below enterprise level...

Please open a case with support. Cases like this are highly content-dependent. Support will need to see the job history and what assets appear to cause it to fail.
Thanks,
