Disable Project Selection in V8

When a content instance is created in V8, the user is prompted to select the Project / Folder to save the content instance to.

Is it possible to prevent / disable this prompt from appearing? For example, when you Edit a content instance you are not prompted for the Project / Folder.

I would like the initial creation to be the same. We have code in our listener to select the appropriate folder based on the CTD type.

I have tired updating the URL loaded to contain the Project ID, but it does not work.

Any suggestions?

There is a property in the VgnExtResource called ice.content.default.project.implin which you can define a class that implements com.vignette.ext.templating.ui.contentinstance.IProjectResolver.

I don?t know if when you implement this class andconfigure it in the config console the Project selection browser doesn?tappear. You can give it a try, as you currently have the logic implemented inthe listener.

The only method that you need to implement is StringgetProject(HttpServletRequest request, ContentType contentType)

The Javascript API driving most of the VCM 8 console isn’tpublic yet, but what you’re looking for is something that is achievedfrom the “Content Select” widget for instance (for which you can specifica default project when creating a new instance from a widget) So you might beable to see how that works (with all the usual caveats when it comes to upgradelater as this API might change in the future)
