Hi,Thanks in advance. We are trying to add few new items to the File menu of the User Interface of TS 6.7.1 SP1 on Solaris 10. After making the canges to the ui_custom.xml and running the make_toolkit.ipl successfully, we are not able to see the new items in the File menu. Any pointers? Thanks!JenniHere is the customized ui_custom.xml[html]Here is the output of the make_toolkit.ipl[html]root@he3unx310:/teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src > /teamsite/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /teamsite/iw-home/bin/make_toolkit.iplBuildfile: /teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/reference/build.xmlinit:compile:[jar] Building jar: /teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_out/customer.jarvalidate:[xmlvalidate] 8 file(s) have been successfully validated.[xmlvalidate] 7 file(s) have been successfully validated.files:[delete] Deleting: /teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_out/customer.tk.war[war] Building war: /teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_out/customer.tk.war[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/application_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xml[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/file_template_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xml[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/portal_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xml[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/search_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xml[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/ui_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xml[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/userops_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xml[exec] Stripping DOCTYPE from file: WEB-INF/conf/customer/workflow_custom.xml, matched pattern: .*_custom.xmlupdate:[exec] ***** Analyzing content_center *****[exec] Previous install of customer toolkit: Wed Apr 9 16:30:32 2008[exec] Changed files: 1[exec] WEB-INF/lib/customer.jar[exec] ***** Updating content_center *****[exec] Stopping Interwoven UI services... done.[exec] Updated WEB-INF/lib/customer.jar[exec] Starting Interwoven UI services... done.BUILD SUCCESSFULTotal time: 15 seconds[/html]
This may seem like a silly question - but did you refresh your browser window - or quit it and start a new browser window to get back to the GUI?You don't have to quit or logout - but you do have to refresh the window in order for the changed menus to show up.
Which ui_custom.xml did you modify? Please specify the complete path.. Were all modifications made as per the UICG guidelines for a new menu item?
Hi Fish,Yes I did logout and opened up a new browser window. Still no changes had been reflected. Thanks,Jenni
Have you modified roles_custom.xml as well? Note that according to customization Guide For each defined operation, an operation element must be explicitly added underall TeamSite role elements, regardless of whether isPermitted is true or false
Jenni is using 671SP1...
Boris,There is no customization based on roles. Thanks!
(shot-in-the-dark) In IWHOME/local/config/lib/content_center/ - I believe there should be a file called toolkits.xml make sure that it has an entry for the 'customer' toolkit and that it's referencing either customer_src or customer_out (I don't remember which one, and I don't have access to a server right now to look). If you don't see that line - you may want to contact Support (or perhaps someone here can post it) to get the correct entry for your toolkit.xml file -- then you have to do the make_toolkit.xml again...
Hi, This is an entry: toolkit id="customer" path="/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_out/customer.tk.war"But i dont think this is a problem, if this was the problem you would have not seen this in make_toolkit output: delete] Deleting: /teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_out/customer.tk.war[war] Building war: /teamsite/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_out/customer.tk.warWhat Adam said about roles in 6.7.1 is correct, but i would suggest try removing operation id once. Regards,
In 6.7.1 Administration tab (in the UI), navigte to Roles and Permissions->Manage Roels then select a role and there is a category called "Custom User Operations" . Under this operation you will see all the custom menu options, so check the options which you need to display based on the role.. Hope this will help.
Yes you are right, after removing the operational id, it worked. Thanks a bunch. Thanks!
