StaticFile- placement path, logical path

Hi,

We have static files in our VCM which we need to publish to a stage. On the publised stage, we have configured an Apache with docroot same as DA's docroot.We are trying to publish HTML files and its associated ancillary files like css, images etc.

The static files are placed in our system at "/Content/SomeName/Website/Website1/" hierarchy. The fiels carry their placement path as "/SomeName/Website/Website1/". On the publised stage, files are created in docroot under same hierarchy - "/SomeName/Website/Website1/".

We need to be able to change this path where the end stage places the publised file. Like a file placed at "/Content/SomeName/Website/Website1/images/my-image.jpg" needs to be published to "/Website1/images/my-image.jpg" the "/SomeName/Website" directories should not be created on my delivery stage. Will changing the placement path achieve this? Whats the differece between placement path and logical path from publishing pov?

any other soltion within the VCM realm like some listener or something along those lines?

Hi,

I carried out a small POC and the findings are - on modifying the placement path and publishing a static file, the file on publised stage resides in the directory hierarchy which corresponds to the placement path.
