Autonomy Search Engine on VCM8,0 Sp1

Hi,

We are currently on VCM8.0 version and having Open Text Search Engine. Now we have a plan to apply SP1 patch. When i looked at the Vignette Content 8_0 SP1 Release Notes, we found that for the currently running vignette Content 8.0 and are patching to 8.0 Sp1, Open Text Common search 1.0 is the recommended search module.

Can some one let me know whether we face any issues if we go with Autonomy search engine?

And also can some one let me know the latest available VCMTools version. Currently we are on 2.0

Hi Madhu,

As far as VCMTools latest version is concerned, I believe that2.0 is the latest version. You might have to re-deploy it against your latestversion of VCM. You can find instructions for redeployment in the release notes.

I am just curious to know, is there a particular reason you areconsidering to move from Open Text Search to Autonomy? Since, you already have OpenText Search installed on your system.

Hi Mukul,

Thanks for your reply. We have a separate syntax for GUID search when we go with Open Text search where was with Autonomy we can search VCM Objects directly with their GUID's. That is the reason why i want to go back to Autonomy if possible.
