Hi,

I am creating a query object with below query:-

select content of type news
where Locations in [profile.countryID]
sort by Display Date descending

It is working fine when "profile.countryID" is having one values and not returning any value if "profile.countryID" is having multiple values.

Could anyone please guide me? It is a kind of urgent and need urgent help.

Hi Sanjeev, it believe what the code expects is the contextualvalue (profile.countryID in your case) to contain an array of Strings(String[]). You might need to write a custom Profile class to provide the valuein the right format OR you can write a RequestContextModifier to provide thisvalue as a request attribute instead

I have few more doubts that I would like to clarify:-

In RequestContextModifier, if we have got Portal Context (SysUtil.getVAPPortalContext();), Why is not is possible to get user attributes from Portal Context(portalContext.getCurrentUser().getProperty("countries").toString())?
Once I set up value on Request (request.setAttribute(abc)), Contextual query should be something like:

select content of type news

where Locations in [request.getAttribute(abc)]

sort by Display Date descending

If request.getAttribute(abc) is a String [], it will work fine?

Hi Sanjeev,

SysUtil.getVAPPortalContext() is just going to return thecontext “name” (/portal), not the full context itself. Your /vgn-ext-templatingwebapp should be completely isolated from your /portal webapp and the only wayto fetch additional information is to do the cross context include describedbelow (which is how the out of the box profile.groups and profile.segmentscontextual values are implemented)

And yes, if request.getAttribute() returns a String[] it shouldwork

I have a custom portal secondary page and I added code segment like below:

String temp = currentUser.getProperty(property) // It is a comma seperated values

request.setAttribute("abc",userArr);

}

Then, I added a query like,

select content of type news

where Locations in [request.getAttribute(abc)]

sort by Display Date descending

But, it is not giving any results.

Any suggestions?

hi Sanjeev, you have to use the DPM RequestContextModifier to perform the include to the Portal context and run your portal code. I know it sounds a bit surprising, but the portlets get executed BEFORE the grids and secondary pages are. See the example I posted the other day.

As soon as I am deploying the DPM with modified RequestContextModifier, system is not completing any request. I am getting below error in my Portal logs:

2010-09-14 13:00:52,431 [[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '2' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] ERROR com.vignette.ext.templating.portal.taglib - Error in performing the cross-context include to /
java.lang.IllegalStateException: The response output stream has already been retrieved
at com.vignette.portal.website.internal.BufferingHttpServletResponseWrapper.getWriter(BufferingHttpServletResponseWrapper.java:115)

Also, I added profile.jsp to "e:\Vignette\PortalMANa\portal" and redeployed the portal. It is giving NullPointerException at below line:

Create a JSP include page. It is working fine as I stated earlier.
Add it to Portal context as per your mail below. It is not working.

I have added below lines of code in my RequestContextModifier
