Use URL to create new DCT

Hi All,

I'm trying to create a new DCT form by hitting a specific url, opposed to using Content Center's file menu(File->New Form Entry). The url I'm using is as follows:

https://[DOMAIN]/iw-cc/newform?iw_which_ui=ccpro&vpath=//[VPATH]/datacapture.cfg

This isn't working as it is creating a blank form. Am I missing additional parameters? I'm running TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1. Thanks in advance!

New Form is supposed to be blank. You do not expect 'newform' command to read your mind and populate the Form for you, do you?

Haha, sorry, by blank I mean, the fields aren't rendering. I'm getting the basic container UI, but no fields.

Ah... What happens when you try "New Form" from the File Menu?

That works fine. What I'm trying to do is use an automated test tool to test the forms I've created(Create, Input values, Save, Load, Check). In order to get to the form, the test tool (Selenium) needs to navigate to create the form. Navigation is really messy in Content Center as it is heavily dependent on JavaScript, CSS. All this has proven more of a pain to try to figure out, then to just give Selenium, a Java based framework, a URL to hit in order to create the form and continue testing from there.

Good chances are, your problem is VFE. It is MS ActiveX control, it needs mshtml.dll to run. In 6.7 Esker plug-in is used
to run the ActiveX in FireFox. Regardless, tools like Selenium or Silk often use their own HTTP Agents and mshtml failure
messes up the whole Form, not only VFE Items.

To test try the Form without VFE, create a simple one if needed. Note that if VFE rendition is indeed your problem I'm not
aware of any workaround

If VFE is the issue, he can change it from an inline to a callout. Now it will fail if the test tool tries to click the callout button.
