Problems during the installation of VCM 7.5

hi,

I tried to install VCM 7.5 on a Red Hat Linux 5.
When I did a custom installation displays the following error:

VIGNETTE CONTENT INSTANCE ATTRIBUTES 1 of 3

Vignette(R) Content will be installed with unique attributes to distinguish it
from other resources on this computer. The instance name will be used to create
processes and directories. The Host Name will allow you to specify a host name
or IP address if this server has multiple host names or IP addresses.

Instance Name: [vgninst] vgninst


Host Name: [ vcmserver ] vcmserver


Runtime Services Admin Server Port: [27001] 27001


The host name you entered is not valid. Please enter the local host name or IP
address.

If I make a quick installation, no fails, but I can not access http://192.168.134.3:27001/vgnsetup. 27 001 Port 27001 is listening, and I can also be accessed from an external browser to an application from a tomcat server

Hi Victor,

 

By default, the VCM embedded app server instance (BEA Weblogic) willbe configured to listen on whatever IP address the host name? (vcmserver?) resolvesto. It’s highly recommended to use a fully qualified DNS name for yourserver. If you can’t, you can edit the config.xml file for the vgndomainand set the “ListenAddress” property to “” (instead ofvcmserver) both for the VgnAdminServer and the VgnVCMServer. In return, the appservers will listen to all available IP addresses on this operating system.
