V8 Style Editor Workspace Customization

 Hi All,

We have had customized content and site workspaces that are security/capability filtered in V7 style editor, which we would like to upgrade to the V8 style editor. In other words, we would like to get these customized workspaces (or equivalent upgraded ones that are compatible with V8 style editor) working in the content context, and remove/hide some of the default workspaces we are not interested in.

 

We can see that your default workspace configuration is provided through the default-ui-workspaces.xml file in the vcm-ui-config.jar file, and refers to java classes implementing the com.vignette.ui.core.workspace.Workspace interface and/or extending the com.vignette.ui.core.workspace.BasicWorkspace class. However, we could not find any documentation that states the proper procedures to follow for customization of the workspace. Can you indicate us a relevant documentation or outline of steps that would help us in customization of the workspace?

What you are trying to achieve is not something that the productsupports natively, though it’s an important product roadmap item, and atthis point we do not expose extension points for this type of workspace customization.
