Thanks for all the inputs, when I build the link usingAPI, it works fine. When I change it using the floote it doesn't work. It seemsthe floote just appending the vgnextfmt=<formatname> to thelink, it's not changing the menuitem in the link.

So that is what is causing your problem. Whatever pieceof code is printing this link is not resolving the right portal nave item.
