Hello Charles,

<![if !supportLists]>4. <![endif]>Are you using VCM 8.0 SP1 or a more recent cumulative efix? A numberof EditLive! related issues were fixed in August
VCM 8.0 comes with a new user interface to create a better userexperience indeed. This new user interface leverages a new technical framework, one that we can build on for the next 5-10 years. The V7.x user interface livedfor 8 years and became fairly battle proof in terms of robustness. We’restill addressing marginal bugs in the new user interface but that was to beexpected, and we planned accordingly to be very reactive in the way we makecumulative efixes available, and a more frequent Service Pack release rate. When it comes to personal preferences I can’t really comment: all I cansay is that we used a scientific approach (SUS score) to measure the level ofsatisfaction for the user experience and that V8 numbers are significantlyhigher (in the 80s) than V7 numbers (in the 60s), and this was done both with experiencedVCM users (several customers were involved) and new users to the VCM and evento Content Management
Thanks,
Bertrand

V8 Content Workspace

Customers have been testing the content workspace and have revealed a few issues which I wonder if any one out there have seen them in your projects? 1. navigate to Tasks and click on a task, you get a dialog where each one of the panels has a "Loading..." at the upper left corner and it never seemed to return; looks like some Ajax calls not returning? This happened for both IE and FireFox. 2. if a username is long, and user's screen resolution is low (1024X768), the display "Welcome username" will mess up in the header. So the question is is it easy or difficult to customise this? For instance remove the test "Welcome"? 3. when setting future publish scheduling date and time, if you set to 9:00pm, and save it, it will revert back to 8:00pm. All the time zones on the OS, the windows control panel, the browser, and the preferences in content workspace are set to BST. A VOLSS ticket has been raised and seemed to have been turned into a JIRA. 4. When adding or changing content, if any error occurs, the content in the fields using EditLive! will disappear after the screen refreshed. Still a mystery to me. more robust A Customer asked me why using content workspace while the old AppConsole works more robust (at least for V8). All the problems above do not happen in AppConsole. Perhaps next release will give better user experiences? Personally I think now that the codes have been very well re-structured (such as channel / CI associations etc.), the AppConsole is a much better experience than before. Perhaps I am a bit old-fashioned;-) Charles
