Modifying discussion footers

We have discussions that include external users. Is it possible to change the footer of the emails that go out to receipients to include the link back to the discussion ONLY if the user is a collab user?

I've found the emailCustomFooter.shtml... but not the template which includes this link back to the discussion. Thanks,

That particular template is called internally, not from anothertemplate. You might try adding code to that template which checksif “theUser” is null (not a user).

I was referring to “emailCustomFooter.shtml” asbeing called internally (no originating template), so you’d need to putyour custom code in there (null check on theUser). I believe you’dwant a “showText(String)” in there to generate the link.

Right... but that doesn't remove the link to the discussion, which would not apply to the external user. Yes, worst case, I considered putting a disclaimer in the custom message for external users.

Okay, to remove the existing footer, you would change the “disableStandardDiscussionFooters”to “true”.
