Using date field to control the display order of fileds in replicant

Hi All,
I am quite new to TPL.I have replicant which contains three fields. Out of three one is date field. I want to display iterate the contents in the replicant depending on the date field. The latest content should come on top and the older content should come on bottom.
So i have created the function which will compare the two date fields, which i am using in the iw_iterate loop for shorting, but it's not working properly.
The date format i am using is 'Month date, year' (ex- January9, 2008).

I think the problem is because of date format. Do i have to convert the dates in another format.

Any ponters in this regard will be appreciated.

As per my understanding, Logic for your requirement:

1. Get size of containter (replicant)
2. Create an array of this size.
3. Now iterate on container

Compare Date field for sorting
Put Compared Date field in array.

4. Repeat 3rd step till you get the array of sorted Date field.
5. Now iterate on array and again iterate on container
6. Match with array's value with container Date field

if it is equal than print
else skip

7. Repeat 6th step till the array end.

For comparison with date you have to do some R&D for perl code.

You have to either force user to input dates in particular format or create your function to handle all sort of date formats and then convert them into one you would use for sorting.

The user will always enter the date in the format i mentioned. So i am just looking on how to short the date in this format (January9, 2008).

This is called "programming", ever heard of it? It's trivial to convert to something like 20080109 and sort that.
If you can't, try perldoc Date::Manip and use this class. If you can't still, hire somebody who knows how to do it.

You have to use perl can code your logic there. Only then you can acheive the sorting.

Can you post the code which you are having problems with?
Despite what Sailesh said - you can do the sorting with iw_iterate without having to break out into a full perl block and, in this case, without really having to [knowingly] use perl at all -- but it helps us help you if you post your code.
