Reference Error when Creating CI through API

Hi,

We are creating a simple CI with one relation. The CI has a reference to static file in the primary relation and also a reference to static file in secondary relation. Both attributes are configured with ContentSelectCCE widget.

Following is the code snippet for creating the content instance. If we remove the setRelations, it works fine but ofcourse doesn't create data in secondary relation.

However, with the code in place, it gives error while checking the referenced attributes. Seems like it gets a null pointer excpetion while checking the reference. Intrestingly, we are providing the same instance reference (thumbnail) to both primary and secondary reference attributes.

What are we missing?

Hi Sohail,

not sure acatullay, but what kind of widgets are involved here? I've seen situations where API will not work if you are using the classic "Get Next ID" widget, changing to GUID will work with API though.

If you are using VCM 8 there is a change in API, check the release notes.

Hi,

The widgets for IDs are set to GUID and we are using V8. I didn't see a lot of change in this API. I am using VCM API guide from V8.

Yes, you are right there is no API changes related to your code , code looks good, can you just make sure that the attribute names are correct and relation names are matching with the configuration.

Can you attach the complete java file or method?
