I set folder permissions - now MediaBin is extremely slow for all non-admins
AnnaRSC
Hi. I need serious help. I came up with a plan to take full advantage of the folder permissions-setting capabilities in mediabin, which blocks groups of users from everything they don't need to see and shouldn't edit. However, ever since I finished, everyone who isn't an admin has had an extremely hard time - MediaBin has become unusably slow for them, I guess because every time they log in , Mediabin has to figure out what they should and shouldn't see? I don't know what else would cause this, since for me as an admin, mediabin has not lost any speed since i set these permissions. help?? thank you!
also, if this is a problem that can only be fixed by giving everyone the same permissions again - which would be very sad, but i need to know if it's true - is there an easy way to reset permimssions to defaults? it's going to take me a while to do this manually, plus i don't even know what the defaults were so i would just be guessing. thanks.

Are you on 4.5.3? What kind of a folder structure do you have? How many levels I mean. Did you explicitly state None permissions at the top level?
