Hi,
I was wondering if MediaBin has a setting that will alert us when an asset(s) have reached the usage date deadline?

Of instance, a user is about to load in assets that has a usage timeline of 2 years. Once the 2 year date is reached, the original assets as well as media where the asset appears will have to be pulled. She wants to know if MediaBin could send an alert(or display some type of an alert) in the tool and maybe setting up a report listing the orginal assets as well as all of the places that the asset appears in.

Is this type of an alert possible in MediaBin? And is there some type of layout in the tool that would help to achieve the user's request?

This can all be done with customizations. Nothing OOTB.

Can you give me an a brief explanation of what type of customization steps that we would have to take to achieve this setup?

You can have a metadata field for this expiration date. And have a script that would generate a report of all content set to or about to expire. The same script can also move that asset to an archive folder that can be accessed only by admins.
