Is there any API can get the content bean by the VCMID?

We have created a CTD which has com.cust.contentbean.ProductSKUMaster as the content bean. And also created the content instance for this CTD. My question is it possible to retrieve the content bean base on the VCMID of that content instance? Is there any API we can refer to?
