copying templatedata to new branch

I want to use a preexisting identical templatedata directory in my new branch, can I simply copy/paste from the old branch to the new branch (of course update templating.cfg) and start generating stuff?

Or do I have to run some sort of script for ea's?

I would not think so since the ea's would be identical minus the branch change. Ugh so the location attribute would need to be changed hmm how to do this?

Do you just want the DCTs and PTs - or do you want the DCRs too?

If you only want the DCTs and PTs - you could copy the whole tree and then delete all the files under the data/ directory for each data-type and start from there.

If you want the DCRs you would need to preserve the EAs - but the only EA on the DCR is the data-type which, if you're copying the entire templatedata directory will be the same and not need to be tweaked.

Frankly you can use the Edit > Copy To... option and that should take of the directories, files, and EAs.

If you do not use prune-missing-files="t" in your templating.cfg file, you may need to edit that file to adjust your regex's for where these particular categories and data-types are allowed (personally, I always use prune-missing-files="t" and have yet to run into a problem because of doing so)
