deployment log file

If I want to check which user started a deployment, which log file shall I check ? I checked the log files in od-home\OpenDeployNG\log\src....., which is micro audit log, right ? In this file it says "Owner started deployment is SYSTEM". This is for all the micro audit log files. So how can I find out which user started deployment ?
At the same time if I check micro audit log file from GUI, I dont get even that information. So why are the two micro audit log files are different ?

Pls explain.

To answer the second question first - the GUI view of the log files tends to be rather confusing and annoying (IMO) as it only shows a sub-section of the file (N-lines) at a time and possibly within a scrolling region - you have to be careful not to confuse the scrolling region as scrolling the entire log - it is only scrolling through the N-lines currently loaded into it - so you have to page-forward/page-backward to load the next/previous N-lines of the file and then scroll through that to ultimately review the entire log file. (short-answer: Look at the files from the file system - it's far less confusing)

To attempt to answer the first question - Windows does not provide for [trivial] impersonation - so when a user runs a deployment on Windows, it is run "by" the OpenDeploy service process owner - which tends to be "SYSTEM".

If your deployments are initiated through a script in a workflow or custom menu item - you should be able to capture the information of who ran which deployment in your own log files.

If your deployments are initiated through the OpenDeploy scheduler, I'm not sure there's any way to identify who actually initiated the deployment.

(note: Unix users do not have this problem)

If you are using a script - presumably you wrote it or can modify one that you inherited. Therefore it is your responsibility to manage logging information in whatever log file you designate.
