Deploying Images to Web Servers

I am currently working on designing a deployment configuration in which the text content of a dcr will be deployed to an Oracle database and any images will be uploaded to a web server. My question is, is it possible to deploy images to a web server when the images have been uploaded from the content editors local harddrive? Meaning the path would be C:/images/image.jpg, or do the images first need to be stored in TS? Can anyone shed any light on a way to deploy these images to the web server w/o having to store the images in TS? Thank you
FYI using TS 6.7.1SP1 and latest version of OD. Thanks again

Your assumption is correct. The files deployed *from* TeamSite need to actually be first imported into TeamSite.

Of course, you can set up OpenDeploy to deploy from sources outside of TeamSite, however, it wouldn't be very smart to install a base on a user's machine to facilitate that.
