Hi,

1) Is there a way to capture free text as comments entered while initiating workflow and the same text be emailed to say first reviewer, by a task within the workflow?

2) Is there a way to capture reviewer commets as free text and then email the same to the author and/or others from a subsequent task in the workflow?

my guess is that both the above,e will have a common way of implementation.

Put the value in a job variable and read the same in your next following task.

One more question: Cau a dcr field be updated to hold the name of the approver, on approval? how? If there are many dcr then...

Will it have to be done via a external task or is there another way...?

The only thing i can suggest is to put Extended Attribute to each DCR.

If your requirement is to track who approved the DCR, then either set it as Extented Attribute or Use the "Submit Details" property of file. The submit details are tied to each version. So if you set the required information you can track the approver information for each version....

Setting extended attrib would be the fastest way. If the user wants to see it in the DCR it self then you could modify the DCR(certain item) using on of the XML parsers(DCRNode for example).
