Restricting the Branch access

Hi,

We are using the Teamsite 6.7 and there are two different Branches as
1. Branch1
2. Branch2

Currently the allowed User for the Branch2 can not access the Branch1 contents since all are disables - read only mode as set in the properties. But they are able to see the Branch structure, vice-versa for other branch.
I want to Hide the Branch1, when the Branch 2 User Login in the Content Center - they should not see that branch.

I think the Private Option in the Branch properties has to be checked, but i am not conformed.

What can be done for this scenario.

Hi,

I dont think that this kind of feature is there in TeamSite ( to restrict the branch viewing option on log in).

Check in the TeamSite Documentation for details.

There's a setting in iw.cfg to show (greyed out) or hide branches that users don't have access.

easiest way to do this would be to create custom roles and then by choosing the restrict option.

I disagree... This approach will not hide the name of a branch of which a user has no access/role.

Modifying the branch_security option in the iw.cfg is the proper way to control the visibility of restricted branches.

Its not working. If we do the changes in permission to 770 then user having the problem in generating, submitting the file..
Please help for this issue...

What role does the user have on the branch?

The users and role which is given for the sub branch is also provided to the Branch. All user who belongs to the branch are available with the respected roles(Author/Editor). One user with Administrator role is also available in it.
