Access.log delete

Hi,

The access.log at the path iw-home\iw-webd\logs keeps growing. I want to delete the same after backing-up but unsable to do so since one of the services is accessing the same.

How can I delete the access.log??

Based on the way your wrote your path separators - try this:

C:\> net stop iwwebd
C:\> del iw-home\iw-webd\logs\access.log
C:\> net start iwwebd

Or alternatively (untried, but looks like it should work):

use TeamSite::Config;
use Win32:ervice;
(my $iwhome = TeamSite::Config::iwgethome()) =~ tr|\\|/|;
StopService("", "iwwebd") || die "Failed to stop iwwebd service ($!)";
unlink("$iwhome/iw-webd/logs/access.log") || warn "Failed to remove access.log ($!)";
StartService("", "iwwebd") || die "Failed to start iwwebd service ($!)";

You can reduce the file size by zeroing it out.
If you are on solaris - a touch would do. This can be done while the Ts server is still running.
Deleting the access.log file is generally not a good practice.

Please have a PERL/Shell Script in cronjob to perform your log recycling activity on periodical basis.
Hope this approach will hel you.
