getting areapath from custom menu item

conmgmt

If we create a custom menu item to call a perl script, is there a way to detect areapath/username/branch information in the script when it is executed?

Please read the fine manual.

Interwoven TeamSite Administration Guide
Release 5.5.2
for Windows NT and Windows 2000
Page 121, "Custom Menu Items"

Manuals for prior releases of TeamSite (probably to 2.0 and even earlier) will contain similar information.

You can use some perl like this to see all the stuff TeamSite passes your custom CGI script when a user clicks on it:

foreach $key (sort keys %{$cgi->{form}})
{
   $value = $cgi->{form}{$key};
   print "(key, value) = ($key,  $value)";
   print "< br>\n"; #space added to make this posting look correct
}
